My Self-Calming Toolkit
🎤 Behind the Roar | September 27, 2025
Self-care should be an essential part of our everyday routine, but life has a way of derailing even the best-laid intentions. That’s why I try to save at least five minutes at the end of each day for one simple ritual.
This past year has been transformative. I celebrated my one-year sobriety-versary, published my first book, and navigated major shifts in my career. Through it all, I’ve learned that self-care isn’t optional for me—it’s non-negotiable.
When I let it slide to the bottom of my list, everything else starts to unravel. But when I give myself even a few intentional minutes, self-care becomes the glue that holds me together.
None of us have endless hours to devote to elaborate routines. But five minutes? We can all find that. Right before bed. First thing in the morning. While sipping coffee before work.
My consistent go-to ritual right now looks like this: every night before washing my face and getting ready for bed, I sit down with a small 5x7 notebook—my Manifestation & Affirmation Journal. I reflect on my day, glance at tomorrow’s schedule, and write 3–5 affirmations intentionally focused on me.
Those five minutes soothe my mind, center my spirit, and prepare me for restful sleep. After nearly six months of this habit, I can honestly say it’s changed me for the better.
This is my current self-care pause—the small daily act that helps me return to myself steadier, softer, and more present.
🌸 What’s in your self-calm toolkit right now? Drop one thing you’ll try today, and let’s keep self-care where it belongs—at the top of the list.

Ronda 💛
