Calm within the Chaos

🔥 Roarffirmations | September 2, 2025

Ever notice how one swipe turns into an hour—and your heart rate’s climbing I have, and it is not a pleasant state of being. As an empathic person, I very easily get caught up in the emotions of negative and traumatic events.

Recently, I found myself going down a rabbit hole on some political news. And I physically felt the effects it was having on me! I started feeling anxious, my heart rate increased, and I even felt myself getting angry at some of the comments people were making to a post.

And then I realized that I was caught in the hopeless spiral of “doomscrolling”. Why do I allow myself to get caught up in something that I cannot control or influence? It was a pointless waste of time, and it left me feeling distraught.

So, I did something drastic. I cut myself off from viewing social media or watching the news—for an entire week! And can you believe that I felt much calmer, more relaxed, and less anxious than I had the week prior!

That experiment reminded me: I can’t control the world, but I can curate my inputs.

Sometimes, the stress and anxiety we have in our lives—it is self-inflicted. If I fill my mind with negativity with news, political views, social/elite drama, then I am filling my life with content that I have zero control over, and it will undoubtedly affect me in negative ways.

This week I am focusing on finding Calm within the Chaos. My hope is that you will take some steps yourself to choose activities that promote calmness in your life. Substitute the “doomscrolling” with a walk around the neighborhood, listening to instrumental music, or doing meditation and breathing exercises.

And if you don’t want to commit to a full week of no social media, that’s fine, but at least commit to trying it for a day or two—and evaluate if you can discern a difference. I’m betting you see a notable change in your demeanor and your attitude.

As we move into this week, may the following words help you remember to stay centered and focused on self-care.

💬 Roarffirmation:
I release stress with every breath.
I let go of worry and anxiety.
I trust my ability to cope with what comes.
I choose inner peace—
Because I am resilient.

Stress is unavoidable, but we can always take steps to manage it and control our reactions to those stressors. I believe in you and am here cheering you on!

Keep Roaring!

— Ronda 💛

P.S. Here’s a Micro-challenge for you! Do a 24-hour news/social reset. Replace scrolling with a 10-minute walk or a 5-minute breathing track. Notice the difference and tell me how you feel.
