🔥 Roarffirmations | January 6, 2026
At the beginning of a new year, motivation tends to show up strong. We feel inspired. Energized. Ready to begin again.
And that’s a beautiful thing.
But motivation—by its very nature—is fleeting. It comes and goes depending on our energy, our emotions, and the realities of everyday life. That doesn’t make it unreliable; it simply makes it human.
What sustains growth isn’t constant excitement—it’s habit.
I love the reminder in this quote, which I am using as our Roarffirmation for today:
“Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.” — Jim Ryun
Habits aren’t loud, and they’re definitely not flashy. They don’t demand perfection or enthusiasm. And in fact, sometimes they’re a little dull and even boring. They quietly show up, even on days when motivation has gone missing. And that’s exactly why they matter.
As we step into a new year, it’s tempting to ask ourselves big questions:
- What do I want to change?
- Who do I want to become?
- How do I stay consistent this time?
But often, the more powerful question is much simpler:
What is one small thing I can return to, even when I don’t feel like it?
Habits don’t require intensity. They require intention and consistency. And that can be hard when the regular demands of everyday life are calling out.
Habits grow when we choose repeatable actions over dramatic promises. When we stop trying to transform everything at once and instead focus on building rhythms that support the life we want to live.
That might look like:
- writing a few sentences each morning instead of a full journal entry
- moving your body gently instead of committing to an unrealistic routine
- choosing to show up instead of chasing completion
- showing up imperfectly—but consistently
Motivation may open the door, but habits are what help us walk through it, day after day.
So if you find your motivation wavering as the year unfolds, don’t see that as failure. See it as an invitation—to lean into the habits that carry you forward when inspiration quiets.
You don’t need to be endlessly motivated to grow. You just need a few habits that meet you where you are and walk with you from there. And honestly, all it takes is just a few minutes to get started.
That’s how momentum is built.
That’s how growth becomes sustainable.
And that’s how intention turns into progress.
Here’s to creating sustainable habits in 2026—ones that support your growth and meet you exactly where you are.
